Ace owner to ‘ride’ for Children’s Miracle Network
David Karsten, who owns three Ace Hardware stores in Arizona, will ride his bike for 340 miles through the Midwest in support of Ace’s Tour de Kids promotion, according to a report in the Arizona Republic.
Karsten, 44, owner of Ace stores in Carefree, Cave Creek and Goodyear, will ride as part of Ace’s fifth annual Tour de Kids, which raises money for the Children's Miracle Network, a national program that supports children's hospitals across the country. Karsten’s funds will go to support Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Thus far, the five Ace events have raised $2.5 million for the cause, and Karsten has raised about $25,000 for the Phoenix hospital in his past three rides. This year, he has raised $8,300, with his goal being $10,000.
