Beazer introduces solar-powered home

Beazer Homes has introduced its first solar-powered eSMART Green homes with the opening of Terraza at Villago in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area June 5.

According to Martin Hernandez, VP sales for Beazer Homes in Phoenix, home buyers at Terraza at Villago can save on their monthly utility bill by using solar to power their home. Beazer's Phoenix Division has partnered with SolarCity to offer an optional SolarLease program that eliminates the upfront costs of installing an integrated solar power system.

"Our eSMART Green homes are designed to maximize savings, while minimizing the overall environmental impact of building and maintaining a home," Hernandez said. "In developing this new series, our planning and design has taken a systems approach to ensure all of the multiple components work together for optimal performance."

The energy-saving features of the eSMART Green model homes at Terraza at Villago make the homes up to 46% more energy efficient than comparably sized houses built to standard code. These Energy Star-certified homes also incorporate features that help conserve water usage and provide for healthier indoor air quality.
