Blume's Solid Surface Products hits 25-year milestone
Blume's Solid Surface Products, a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer of solid surface, quartz and granite countertops, celebrated its 25th anniversary recently.
The company took root in 1972 when Gus Blume and his wife, Dorothy, launched a laminate countertop fabrication shop called Topcraft.
They sold the business in 1988 and replaced it with the modern-day Blume's, which expanded to include stone operations in 2004 and is now a wholesale company selling to kitchen dealers, contractors, millwork houses and builders.
Blume's is not only recognized by the community it serves, but also by the state of Pennsylvania for being the first stone fabricator in the state (and the 18th in the world) to achieve accreditation from the Marble Institute of America.
