Duane McDougall, the former president and CEO of Willamette Industries, has been named the chairman and CEO of Boise Cascade, effective Dec. 1. McDougall will replace Tom Stephens, who is retiring.
McDougall has served on Boise’s board of directors since 2004. His career at Willamette Industries spanned 23 years, until the Portland, Ore. forestry company lost a 14-month takeover battle to Weyerhaeuser. In January of 2002, Willamette agreed to be acquired by Weyerhaeuser for $6.2 billion cash.
Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, the privately owned Boise Cascade engineered wood products, plywood, lumber particleboard, and a number of other building materials.
