Crossman recalls air pistols

Certain models of Crossman semi-automatic stle air pistols are being recalled because the pistols can explode at high temperatures.

There have been no injuries reported, but according to a release from the Consumer Products Safety Commission, the Crossman air pistols caould explode, propelling the pistol's broken pieces into the air. The product poses a risk of eye and other injuries, according to the voluntary recall announcement.

The air pistoals were sold at sporting goods stores, mass merchants and other stores nationwide from November 2012 through June 2013 for about $45 to $60. 

The pistols were made in Taiwan and imported by Crossman Corp. of Bloomfield, N.Y.

The recall applies to pistols with model numbers C21, C31 and 9-C31BRM with serial numbers beginning with 12J, 12K, 12L, 12M, 13A, 13B or 13C.
