Mohawk to close plants

Mohawk Industries, the Calhoun, Ga. floor covering manufacturer, closed its tufting facility in Armuchee, Ga. on Feb. 19, according to the Rome News-Tribune. Approximately 158 workers will be offered positions at other Mohawk sites, a company spokesperson said.

The newspaper also reported that Mohawk plans to shutter a plant in Dalton, Ga., that will put 68 employees out of work.

Mohawk closed three other facilities in Georgia last year, according to the report.
