Jeff and Al Bunge of Cedar Lake True Value Hardware were recognized by the Chicago-based True Value Company as one 13 “Best Hardware Store in Town” honorees.

According to the co-op, Jeff got his own department in the family owned store at the age of 11, working under his father and uncle. The store was converted to the Destination True Value format in June 2012.

Gibbs True Value Hardware in Grayson, Kentucky, was recognized by Chicago-based True Value Co. as one of 13 Best Hardware Store in Town honorees.

Accepting the award at a True Value hosted ceremony earlier this year were C.C. and Julie Gibbs. 

The store was the first in the state of Kentucky to adopt the Destination True Value format. The store also offers niche categories, such as fireplaces, outdoor power equipment and a Just Ask Rental business.

Chanute, Kan.-based Cleaver Farm & Home was recognized by Chicago-based True Value Co. as one of 13 “Best Hardware Store in Town” honorees.

Accepting the award at a True Value hosted ceremony were Chris and Jason Cleaver. 

The retailer converted to the co-op’s Destination True Value format in spring 2013, and the owners see continued community support along with opportunities for growth. 

The farm-and-ranch segment has been an area of focus for the wholesaler, which describes the segment as its fastest growing.

The co-op's "Best Hardware Store in Town" awards are dished out to 13 True Value stores, from California to the Bahamas.

Chicago-based True Value Co. recognized 13 True Value hardware stores, selected from each of the co-op’s retail regions, as winners of its sixth annual “Best Hardware Store in Town” program.

From coast-to-coast to yet another coast, Chicago-based True Value Company recognized 14 True Value hardware stores as winners of its annual "Best Hardware Store in Town" award.

This year's list included a Bermuda retailer, marking the first time a member outside of the United States was honored by the award.

“Our vision is to help every True Value be the ‘best hardware store in town,’ and these 14 stores represent what it takes to exceed customer expectations,” said Lyle Heidemann, president and chief executive officer of True Value Co.

Chicago-based True Value Co. recognized 13 member hardware stores as part of its fourth annual "Best Hardware Store in Town" campaign.
