Organizers of the recently completed 2011 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas said a second straight year of increased attendance gives the 2012 show a head start. 

The 66th Annual National Hardware Show, which concluded May 12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, saw an increase in attendance of 4%, according to organizers. Last year's show saw an increase of 20%. Organizers said they were encouraged by exhibitor bookings for 2012 that are already up 16% from a year ago.

The 2011 National Hardware Show opens today in Las Vegas, featuring thousands of products organized across nine categories on the massive Las Vegas Convention Center show floor.

The Show will continue to offer exciting special events, including product demonstrations, roundtables, informative addresses and panels by industry experts, including the Golden Hammer Awards breakfast event, taking place Wednesday morning.

Orgill, Distribution America, Ace Hardware, True Value and Lancaster make up the list of co-ops/distributors signed up for the new Buying Desk Program so far, according to organizers of the National Hardware Show.

Independent retailers attending the May 10-12 event in Las Vegas will have instant access to new products introduced at the event  through the show’s new Buying Desk Program. On the flip side, suppliers attending the 2011 event will be able to sell products to independent retailers through their existing co-operative and distributor programs.
