Towson, Md.-based DeWalt has launched the Adjustable Depth Setter and Dust Collector, which when used together serve as the brand's proprietary Depth Control and Dust System.

Designed specifically for use with the SDS Plus drill bits from DeWalt, the system is built for professionals in the mechanical, electrical and plumbing fields. The most frequent application of this system is for installing drop-in anchors, which are used to hold threaded rod for hanging pipes, conduit and heavy loads.

Towson, Md.-based Porter-Cable announced its sponsorship of the Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2011 University of Maryland team.

Porter-Cable donated a variety of tools, including cordless and corded drills, circular saws, batteries, chargers, compressors, routers, pneumatic nailers and much more to aid in the construction of the team’s solar-powered house, which the University of Maryland team will assemble and operate during the competition.

DeWalt has announced the introduction of its 24 Inch Tote with Power Tool Case. The two-in-one storage solution allows contractors to easily store power tools, hand tools and accessories -- like drill bits, nails and screws -- in the power tool case, which also functions as a lid. For internal storage customization, the tool case has a removable divider that stores larger items in the bottom of the tote, helping to eliminate the need for multiple tool bags.

Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. expanded its M18 Lithium-ion system with the new M18 Cordless 3/8-inch Right Angle Drill Driver.

The 18V right angle drill with an adjustable clutch provides eleven torque settings, plus one drill mode, for control in close-quarter fastening applications.

“The combination of a 3.75-inch total head length and an integrated Electronic Clutch make this tool the most compact 18V Right Angle Drill Driver in the industry,” says Christian Coulis, senior product manager for Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation.

The new Solid Rock Carbide SDS Plus Bits are designed for mechanical and general contractors, electricians, forming and tilt wall contractors, glaziers and other professionals.

La Mirada, Calif.-based Makita announced the launch of its next generation half-inch drill/driver to its 18-volt Compact Lithium Ion line.

 

The new LXFD01CW drill/driver is the latest edition to the compact lithium-ion platform created by Makita in 2006. It delivers more power with less weight and improved ergonomics for a range of drilling, driving and fastening tasks, the company said.
