BlueLinx Holdings has announced that George R. Judd will no longer serve as president and chief executive, effective May 14, 2013. Judd will also resign as a director of BlueLinx following the 2013 Annual Meeting of Stockholders on May 16.

The board has appointed Howard S. Cohen to serve as executive chairman, while the board conducts a search for a successor to Judd. Cohen has been a director of the company since 2007 and has served as chairman of the board since 2008.

The paint giant's board of directors elected Shane Fleming, CEO of Cytec Industries, to serve as a director.

Minneapolis-based The Valspar Corp. announced that its board of directors elected Shane D. Fleming to serve as a director of the corporation.

Fleming, 54, was also appointed to serve on the board’s compensation committee, effective June 4, 2013. He is currently chairman, CEO and president of Cytec Industries, a global specialty material and chemical technologies company.

Hilsheimer was executive VP and CFO of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co., the Columbus, Ohio-based insurance and financial services company, from 2007 through 2009. He then served as president and chief operating officer of Nationwide Direct & Customer Solutions, and most recently was president and chief operating officer of Nationwide Retirement Plans.

The Oak Brook, Ill.-based co-op reported fiscal 2012 revenues of $3.8 billion along with a strong fourth quarter.

Oak Brook, Ill.-based Ace Hardware Corp. posted fiscal 2012 revenues of $3.8 billion, up 3.6% from the previous year. 

The co-op’s net income of $81.8 million increased 5.3% for the year.

“We are very pleased with our fiscal 2012 results as revenues and net income were both higher than last year and our plan,” said Ray Griffith, Ace CEO, who will be replaced by John Venhuizen as CEO, effective March 31.

The Canadian home improvement giant tapped a grocery industry veteran to lead its battle against U.S. rivals.

Boucherville, Quebec-based RONA named Robert Sawyer as CEO, ending its search for a permanent replacement for long-time CEO Robert Dutton, who resigned in November.

Sawyer is the former chief operating officer of Metro Inc., the Quebec-based food retailer.

Robert Chevrier, executive chairman of RONA, trumpeted Sawyer’s retail experience.

Scotts CFO Dave Evans resigned from the lawn and garden giant to join a nonprofit research company.

Marysville, Ohio-based Scotts Miracle-Gro announced that Dave Evans has resigned as chief financial officer and executive VP and has accepted a similar role with Columbus-based Battelle, the world's largest nonprofit research and development organization.

Evans joined Scotts Miracle-Gro as director of finance for operations in 1993 and moved through several roles before being named CFO in 2006.
