BlueLinx Holdings has announced that George R. Judd will no longer serve as president and chief executive, effective May 14, 2013. Judd will also resign as a director of BlueLinx following the 2013 Annual Meeting of Stockholders on May 16.

The board has appointed Howard S. Cohen to serve as executive chairman, while the board conducts a search for a successor to Judd. Cohen has been a director of the company since 2007 and has served as chairman of the board since 2008.

True Value has announced the retirement of president and CEO Lyle Heidemann, effective May 31. John Hartmann has been appointed as the company’s new president and CEO, following the retirement of Heidemann. Heidemann will continue to serve True Value through the end of 2013 as an adviser.

Marysville, Ohio-based Scotts Miracle-Gro named Larry Hilsheimer executive VP and chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Hilsheimer was executive VP and CFO of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co., the Columbus, Ohio-based insurance and financial services company, from 2007 through 2009. He then served as president and chief operating officer of Nationwide Direct & Customer Solutions, and most recently was president and chief operating officer of Nationwide Retirement Plans.

Oak Brook, Ill.-based Ace Hardware Corp. posted fiscal 2012 revenues of $3.8 billion, up 3.6% from the previous year. 

The co-op’s net income of $81.8 million increased 5.3% for the year.

“We are very pleased with our fiscal 2012 results as revenues and net income were both higher than last year and our plan,” said Ray Griffith, Ace CEO, who will be replaced by John Venhuizen as CEO, effective March 31.

The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) announced its new leadership team at the WDMA Spring Meeting and Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.   

At the meeting, the WDMA board of directors elected Mike Salsieder, of Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork in Wausau, Wis., as the association's 2013-2014 chair, replacing outgoing chair Ann Duebner of Eggers Industries in Two Rivers, Wis.

Beacon Roofing Supply has appointed Joseph Nowicki as executive VP, chief financial officer and treasurer, effective March 25. Nowicki will oversee finance, information technology and investor relations and will be located in the company's Herndon, Va., office.

Minneapolis-based The Valspar Corp. announced Monday that former Best Buy executive James Muehlbauer has been named executive VP, chief financial and administrative officer.

He will replace Lori Walker, who will retire in April.

New Orleans -- Ace Hardware CEO Ray Griffith, who will step down as CEO in late March, gave his last general session talk to the collected membership of the co-op.

West Chester, Pa.-based Metabo, a manufacturer of professional-grade portable electric power tools and abrasives, promoted four individuals to newly created and existing positions. 

The changes, effective immediately, are a strategic move in preparation for company-wide growth in 2013, according to Martin Cross, president of Metabo.

Beazer Homes has appointed Nick Peacock to the position of VP lender relations.

Marysville, Ohio-based Scotts Miracle-Gro announced that Dave Evans has resigned as chief financial officer and executive VP and has accepted a similar role with Columbus-based Battelle, the world's largest nonprofit research and development organization.

Evans joined Scotts Miracle-Gro as director of finance for operations in 1993 and moved through several roles before being named CFO in 2006.
