Beacon Roofing Supply, the Peabody, Mass., distributor of roofing and other housing exterior materials, has announced the acquisition of Fowler & Peth, a distributor of residential and commercial roofing products and related accessories headquartered in Denver.

Founded in 1948, Fowler & Peth has six locations in Colorado, two in Wyoming and one in Nebraska. Annuals sales are approximately $60 million.

Denver-based Johns Manville joined U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and Johnny Isakson in Washington, D.C., to applaud the introduction of the Sensible Accounting to Value Energy (SAVE) Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at encouraging greater investment in insulation and other forms of home energy efficiency.

Oak Brook, Ill.-based Ace Hardware Co. will unveil its new live goods program in Denver during its Fall Convention & Exhibits Oct. 15 to 17. 

The live goods program was tested at some Northeast retailers with strong results, according to Ace. The new program includes a partnership with BloomIQ.com, offering personalized garden planning tools for customers.

The live goods program is launching nationally in 2012.

Winchester, Va.-based Trex Co. is the sponsor of the fourth annual HGTV Green Home. Located in the sustainable neighborhood of Stapleton in northwest Denver, the modern-prairie style structure features the latest environmentally friendly products and technologies.  

The 2,400-sq.-ft. home features an expansive outdoor living space with a deck constructed of Trex Transcend.

A leader in wood-alternative decking, Trex said it turns 1.5 billion recycled plastic bags into its outdoor living products each year.

Denver-based ProBuild Holdings acquired the assets of Harbert Lumber Co., a building materials supplier based in Colorado, with locations in Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs, Aspen and Steamboat Springs. 

Terms of the sale agreement were not disclosed.
