The Pennsylvania Supreme Court handed a victory to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on Aug. 21 when it upheld the decision to grant a casino license to Joe Hardy, the founder of both Nemacolin and 84 Lumber.

The connection between the two businesses was factored into an objection raised by Mason-Dixon Resorts, which wanted to build its own casino but lost out when the Pennsylvania Gaming Board awarded Nemacolin the only slot machine license.

ProBuild Holdings has announced the opening of a new location in Altoona, Pa.

ProBuild Holdings has announced the opening of a new location in Altoona, Pa., approximately 100 miles east of Pittsburgh. Grand-opening ceremonies will be held on Jan. 20.

The 65,000-sq.-ft. Altoona facility will include a kitchen, bath and millwork showroom, as well as a full assortment of building materials. ProBuild Altoona also offers installation services for both builders and homeowners.

Last year, ProBuild opened two other locations near Pittsburgh, which is the home turf of rival pro dealer 84 Lumber: White Oak, Pa., and Morgantown, W.Va.

Lancaster, Pa.-based Armstrong World Industries has acquired Intalite Inc., operating under the name Simplex. The acquisition will strengthen Armstrong's capabilities in the North American specialty ceiling market and supports the company's growth strategy, including the expansion of its global leadership and manufacturing presence in targeted markets.

Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. Simplex will become part of the Armstrong Building Products division.
