Sarno’s past experience includes positions at Interline Brands and W.W. Granger. According to the company, Sarno has deep experience in the wholesale and distribution industries. 

The company made the announcement at its recent Fall Market in San Antonio.

Houston, Texas-based Goodman Company is recalling about 233,500 units of its Amana, Century, Comfort-Aire, Goodman and York International Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner/Heat Pump (“PTAC”) units.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the power cords on the units have displayed a tendency to overheat, creating burn and fire hazards.

So far, there have been five reports of the power cords smoking or catching fire, though no injuries have been reported as of yet.

Cowart will lead Handy as it distances itself from its tumultuous recent period and builds on its “ProfitPlus” value proposition, the company said.

Joseph Harper, Sr. has retired from the board of directors at Sterling Construction Company, effective June 11.

Harper has been involved with Sterling since the days of its predecessor, joining the company in 1972, six years before its from from Sterling Heights, Michigan to Houston.

His roles at the company have ran the gamut from project management to executive roles such as CFO, treasurer, and most recently, president and COO.

Global Cranes moved to its new global headquarters, at 14702 Jersey Shore Dr. in Houston.

The new headquarters is twice as large as the former location, a fact credicted to the success of the Zoomlion RT, for which Global is the exclusive distributor.

“Our sales have been increasing for a while before absolutely exploding at ConExpo,” said Ed Gibson, North American sales manager. “With our new location, we’ll have more space to both exhibit and service all of our cranes.”

Maria Frank recently purchased Houston-based Cabinets & Designs from her father, Cabinets & Designs founder David Steffan Sr., who had owned the company for 40 years.

"I feel very proud that my father has the confidence in me to continue the business," said Frank. "To take care of something that he's spent his life on is incredible."
