Valentine’s Day special: CEO married to CEO

Stanley Works CEO John Lundgren and his wife Tamara Lundgren, CEO of Schnitzer Steel, appeared together on a CNBC video interview.

While their two companies are in different fields, John Lundgren and his wife Tamara Lundgren both carry the tile CEO -- John of Stanley Black & Decker, Tamara of Schnitzer Steel.

Both executives appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box on Valentine’s Day to talk about their businesses.

At Stanley, the CEO is elected as chairman

The board of directors of Stanley Black & Decker has announced that CEO John Lundgren has been elected to serve in the additional capacity as chairman of the board, effective March 13, following the expiration of Nolan Archibald’s term as executive chairman of the board.

Archibald’s employment agreement with the company expires on March 12, at which time he will retire as executive chairman of the board and as an executive of the company.

Stanley execs address Japanese supply chain

 

Nearly two months since the tragic Japanese earthquake and tsunami, the issue of power-tool supply-chain was raised during a Stanley Black & Decker conference call.

Stanley President and CEO John Lundgren said to the extent that there may be difficulties getting product from Japan, they would appear in the second quarter.

Stanley Black & Decker posts huge gains

Thanks to the inclusion of Black & Decker's performance in the combined results of Stanley Black & Decker, the New Britain, Conn.-based tool maker reported a 142.8% jump in fourth quarter net income to $178.0 million, up from $73.3 million.

Sales for the quarter were $2.4 billion, up 149% compared with $969.4 million for the same period last year.
