For years, Flor has worked to change people’s concept of floor coverings, by selling boxes of modular carpet tiles by mail order.


The concept made another mark on the distribution channel last month. The Chicago-based company opened a brick-and-mortar store in Dallas — its fifth, joining high-profile, high fashion locations in Chicago, New York and Santa Monica, Calif.

Diboll, Texas-based Temple-Inland expanded its GreenGlass family of products to include a tile backer.

GreenGlass features a built-in, moisture-blocking acrylic coating that resists water penetration through its surface, plus a water-resistant gypsum core formulated to include the TemShield Mold Protection System. Faced on both sides with naturally mold- and moisture-resistant fiberglass mats, this combination has been shown to be highly mold-resistant in tests.

Bellavita Tile by DM Connections, the Vancouver, Canada-based supplier, has officially executed a name change as part of a restructuring. 

In combination with opening a new manufacturing facility with advanced capabilities in porcelain floor and wall tiles to increase its product matrix, the company will now operate exclusively as Bellavita Tile, Inc.

East Coast Tile Group signed an exclusive master distribution arrangement with StonePeak Ceramics in the eastern United States. 

Under terms of the deal, East Coast Tile divisions Best Tile and Tile America will use their infrastructure to supply commercial-grade porcelain tiles to customers and prospects in the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
