Mineola, New York-based MAX USA, a manufacturer of pneumatic nailing tools owned by MAX CO., LTD. in Tokyo, has hired Ron Pedzinski as its new Western regional sales manager.

Pedzinski has 25 years of sales experience in the building products industry, including construction materials and various market segments in commercial and residential.

He also has 15 years of experience in sales management and distribution development in the Western region of the country.

In his new role, Schmitt will be responsible for Huttig locations in Augusta and Saco, Maine; Newington, Connecticut; Taunton, Massachusetts;  Hooksett, New hampshire and Selkirk, N.Y.

WOLF announced it will move its New England distribution hub from its current location in Worcester, Massachusetts, to a 100,000-sq.-ft. site in Northborough. The move to a larger distribution center will boost WOLF’s ability to serve kitchen and bath and building products to dealers in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and upstate New York, the company said.

WOLF took full occupancy of the new site on Sept. 22 and will close its current facility, which the company has outgrown since it opened in January 2011.

Port Washington, New York-based PACOA just got back from its Annual Fall Dealer Market in Queens, and according to the distributor, it was one for the books.

This year's event boasted "record-breaking" attendance and sales, driven largely by the attendance of some big names in paint, hardware and lumber, according to PACOA.

Several new vendors were also on-hand, including GACO, Dickies, Chapin, Frog Tape, ZEP and more.

More than 200 manufacturers participated in the Fall Dealer Market, offering competitive promotions and new product glimpses.

Formally operated for 37 years as Buttolph Lumber, this location encompasses 9.2 acres and over 50,000 sq. ft. of enclosed storage. The site also has a railroad siding that has direct access to the CSXT rail system. The purchase included the physical plant and all inventory, trucks and equipment.

TOTO, the $5.1 billion plumbing manufacturer, announced today that the company is increasing its market reach in the Northeast region of the United States by entering into a distribution agreement with Blackman Plumbing Supply.

The new deal, effective immediately, brings TOTO's full line of residential and commercial fttings and fixtures to all of Blackman's 19 branch locations throughout Long Island, New York and New Jersey, and will be on display in all Blackman showrooms.

After a slow first quarter, Fortune Brands and Home Security saw a second-quarter 10% year-over-year sales bump. The company also announced that it had acquired Sentry Safe for $117.5 million.

In the second quarter, Fortune Brands reported $1.4 billion in sales, and $136.6 million in operating income before charges and gains — a $20.1 million increase over the second quarter of 2013. The total company’s pre-gains operating income grew by 28%.
