Weyerhaeuser has announced the addition of a production line this summer for its radiant barrier sheathing (RBS) at its oriented strand board (OSB) mill in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan. The added manufacturing capacity will help meet demand for the product in California, Arizona and Nevada, the company said.

Louisiana-Pacific Corp. has announced that its Dawson Creek, B.C., mill will curtail production of oriented strand board (OSB) beginning Aug. 25. The mill will continue to manufacture LP TechShield Radiant Barrier Sheathing to support its customers' needs in West Coast markets. 

The Dawson Creek OSB mill was constructed in 1987 and currently employs 114 people. After winterization and preparations for press shutdown are completed, about 26 employees will be retained to operate the TechShield Radiant Barrier line, and maintain the plant and equipment.

KB Homes has announced its intention to add LP’s TechShield Radiant Barrier roof sheathing at no additional cost in new homes built across the United States. The company is the first residential home builder to make this a standard feature in all its new community homes. 

KB Homes also installs low-E windows, Energy Star appliances and programmable thermostats as standard features in its homes.
