Robert Bosch Tool Corp. has introduced the Bosch Power Ready Wireless Charging System, which is based on the concept of contactless energy transfer, also known as inductive charging. When the charger is plugged in and the compatible battery is placed on it, the charger begins wirelessly transmitting an alternating magnetic field. The battery, featuring an internal copper coil, acts as a receiver. As the alternating magnetic field penetrates the coil, voltage is induced and a charging current flows to the cells until full.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Robert Bosch Tool Corp., is recalling select models of the SKIL miter SkilSaw, a 10-in. compound miter saw. The lower guard on the tool can break and contact the blade during use, posing a laceration hazard to users. The firm has received no reports of incidents or injuries, however.

Approximately 22,149 units of the product, which was manufactured in China, were sold at Lowe's nationwide and OC Tanner from January 2012 to April 2012.

Mount Prospect, Ill.-based Robert Bosch Tool Corp. has announced that Manfred Seitz will retire at the end of March 2011 as chairman, president and CEO after 34 years leading several different divisions of the Bosch Group.

The company said Terry Horan will succeed as president and CEO, effective April 1, 2011.
