Simpson Manufacturing Co. reported net sales for the first quarter ended March 31 decreased 2.6% to $154.5 million.

Pleasanton, Calif.-based Simpson Manufacturing Co. reported net sales for the first quarter ended March 31 decreased 2.6% to $154.5 million.

The company had net income of $4.8 million for the first quarter of 2013 compared with net income of $7.2 million for the first quarter of 2012.

Sales increase at Simpson Manufacturing

Fastener maker Simpson Manufacturing Co. reported net sales of $130.7 million for its fourth fiscal quarter of 2011, a 9.3% increase over sales of $119.6 million for the same quarter of 2010. The Pleasanton, Calif.-based company had income, net of tax, of $4.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2011 compared to a loss, net of tax, of $4.5 million for the fourth quarter of 2010.

Simpson makes acquisition in North Carolina

Pleasanton, Calif.-based Simpson Manufacturing Co. subsidiary Simpson Strong-Tie agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of North Carolina-based Automatic Stamping.

The price tag was an aggregate of $41.4 million, plus the value at closing of inventory and accounts receivable.

Simpson posts sales and earnings gains

Pleasanton, Calif.-based Simpson Manufacturing Co. reported second-quarter net sales increased 7.4% to $177.8 million, up from $165.6 million in the same quarter last year.

Net income was $19.5 million, up from $6.7 million in the same quarter last year.

Sales increased in the United States, with increases in California and the western, midwestern and southeastern regions, as compared with the second quarter of 2010. Sales in the northeastern region decreased slightly.
