The survey, the TraQline PRO report from The Stevenson Co., also found pros -- including general contractors, painters, plumbers and landscapers -- are motivated by competitive prices when buying home improvement materials.

According to an article in the Woodbury Patch, Frattallone's Ace Hardware in Woodbury, Minn., plans to double its size.

With the expansion, the store will have room to bring in Stihl tools, according to the article. Frattallone's Ace Hardware has 16 Minnesota locations.

That passage was written by a retail store owner, who worried about large competitors encroaching on his turf. The year wasn’t 2011, 2001 or even 1991.

Germany-based Stihl Group has opened a new facility in Chakan, Pune, India, according to the Business Standard.

According to the article, the new facility will include a warehouse, administrative block, a training center, engine testing and a service facility.
