Arlington, Texas-based research firm Decision Analyst reported that its U.S. Economic Index moved from 99 in February 2013 to 100 in March 2013, an increase of one point.

The U.S. Economic Index has essentially been flat over the past 10 months, fluctuating in a narrow range just below 100.

An irate customer planted a fake grenade in the lumber department of a Lowe’s in Texas, prompting an evacuation of the store. The January 9 incident, reported by the Houston Chronicle, began around 1:15 p.m. when the suspect entered the store with a hollowed-out grenade.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited Dallas-based TMT Inc. with four serious safety violations of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act’s general duty clause following an aggravated robbery that resulted in the death of an employee at the company’s Whip-In convenience store in Garland, Texas.

OSHA announced the violations Nov. 19, 2012, in connection with the May 2012 death of the store clerk, who was alone at the time. She was robbed and set on fire and later died from her injuries.

Weyerhaeuser Distribution has added the full line of WindsorOne trim and molding products to its offerings in California, where it will be the exclusive distributor of manufacturer’s products.

Weyerhaeuser is stocking and shipping the WindsorOne line from its distribution centers in Stockton, Fresno, Santa Clarita and Fontana.

This summer, Weyerhaeuser also announced it is distributing WindsorOne building materials in Texas.
