True Value Corp. CEO John Hartmann’s first mission was to meet as many dealers as fast as possible. In his first three-and-half-months on the job, he talked to some 450 retailers at 13 roundtable events around the country.

Las Vegas -- Memphis, Tenn.-based distributor Orgill recently signed a distribution agreement with BMC, supplying hardlines to the Boise, Idaho-based pro dealer.

The distribution and services deal was signed late last year, and replaces BMC's similar distribution agreement with True Value Corp. The transition is in its early stages, according to both Orgill and BMC.

Orgill is making its first appearance at the BMC National Meeting and trade show in Las Vegas Jan. 8-11.

True Value Corp. reported revenues of $448.9 million for its third fiscal quarter, an increase of 0.7% from revenues of $445.7 million for the same period in fiscal 2011. The Chicago-based co-op posted a quarterly net margin of $15.4 million for the third quarter, versus $18.1 million a year ago, a decrease of 14.9%.
