The Chicago-based co-op tapped Brent Burger, owner of hardware stores in Maine.

Chicago-based True Value Co. tapped Brent Burger, owner of hardware stores in Maine, as chairman of the board.

Burger replaces outgoing chairman Brian Webb, owner of Krueger’s True Value in Neenah, Wis. and Grand Rental Station in Appleton, Wis.

Burger has served on the board since 2007, sitting on the compensation and corporate governance committees. He also serves on the board of the True Value Foundation.

The board of directors of Stanley Black & Decker has announced that CEO John Lundgren has been elected to serve in the additional capacity as chairman of the board, effective March 13, following the expiration of Nolan Archibald’s term as executive chairman of the board. 

Archibald’s employment agreement with the company expires on March 12, at which time he will retire as executive chairman of the board and as an executive of the company.

Three executives with long tenures retired from Memphis, Tenn.-based Orgill this month: Bill Fondren, Ken Post and Steve East.

Fondren retired as chairman of the board, but he will remain as a board member. Ron Beal will assume the chairman of the board post.

Ken Post was chief merchandise officer, a position to be filled by Brett Hammers. And Steve East was VP advertising. His replacement is Jeff Curler.

Window and door manufacturer Andersen has named Jay Lund, its president and CEO since March 2011, as its new chairman of the board. Lund will replace chairman Jim Humphrey, who officially retires from his board role on Feb. 22, 2013, as part of a planned transition. Humphrey joined Andersen in 1999, served as president and CEO from 2003 to 2011 and was named chairman of the board in February 2008. He joined Andersen following a 31-year career at Armstrong World Industries.
