Vergennes, Vt.-based DR Power Equipment has introduced two new chipper/shredder models designed for homeowners.

The products are described as “a single-machine solution to tough yard debris and waste.”

The company’s 11.50 Premier and 14.50 Pro model Chipper/Shredders will shred prunings, leaves and garden leftovers into rich, organic mulch, and also chip larger branches into landscaping woodchips for paths and ornamental flower beds.

AZEK Building Products has added new outdoor lighting options to its AZEK Rail product line: two styles of Lighted Post Caps and Under Top Rail Lighting.

The Lighted Post Caps include the Villa Cap, available in White and Black, and the Island Cap, available in White, Black, Brownstone and Kona (dark brown). Both caps include multiple LEDs and fit all AZEK 5X5 Rail Post sleeves and complement existing post caps.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest differences. Then again, sometimes it’s the big things.


The Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Do it Best Corp., fresh from its October Market in Indianapolis, is advancing a slate of initiatives both large and small. Projects range from reprinting its field staff’s business cards to building what it calls a digital World Class Commerce Center. And as CEO Bob Taylor sees it, they are all in service of one overarching goal: serving the members. 


Let’s start with the big plans first.

Two-unit, Buffalo, N.Y.-based lumber dealer Len-Co Lumber Corp. paid $2.95 million for a 60,000-sq.-ft. property in the Town of Tonawanda, N.Y., according to an article in the Buffalo News.

Len-Co's new location, its third, is a former Premier Wines flagship store. Len-Co operates stores in Buffalo and Williamsville, N.Y.

Oak Brook, Ill.-base Ace Hardware Corp. introduced Clark + Kensington, a new line of premier paint of the paint-and-primer-in-one variety.

Ace will begin shipping Clark + Kensingtron from its distribution centers beginning Sept. 6, and it will go nationwide during the first two quarters of 2012. 

The line of 100 percent acrylic, low-VOC paint is named after Ace’s first retail location on Chicago’s Clark Street and the site of their worldwide headquarters.
