DR Power Equipment has announced a new addition to its Trimmer line: the DR 3-Point Hitch Fence Line Mower for tractor owners.

The new mower was added after the company heard from customers that the original Trimmer Mower worked well for small to medium areas of grass and weeds, but that long fence lines required a lot of "on your feet" time. The tractor-mounted DR 3-point hitch Fence Line Mower was designed to meet this need, making trimming long fence lines easier.

Trex Co. has announced the addition of Pebble Grey to its Trex Select decking and railing collection. The cool, subdued color will make its debut on the market as homeowners put the finishing touches on their decks and patios for the season.

According to the company, Pebble Grey "creates a relaxed coastal atmosphere that complements the exterior of any home."

Pebble Grey will be the fifth in a line of Trex Select decking colors inspired by nature, including Madeira, Winchester Grey, Saddle and Woodland Brown.

New York's SoHo neighborhood played host to Samsung's 2013 showroom, bringing professional design sensibility and product innovation to the forefront of the experience at its pop-up shop exhibit.

The custom-designed home environment was open by invitation only on June 12-14 and to the public on June 15-16. Visitors were able to view Samsung's appliances within the context of the fully operational kitchen and laundry room, designed by Hilary Farr, host of HGTV's "Love It or List It."

Wayne, N.J.-based GAF announced the production of high-density polyisocyanurate (ISO) cover boards, which can be used as a protective layer over boardstock insulation or as a recover over an existing roofing system.

“Our new GAF High Density Cover Board is a key component for a more resilient roofing system from single ply to asphaltic,” said Justin Hardy, GAF product manager at GAF. “The ability to protect a roof from traffic and impact while adding R-value performance is a game changer.”

The company says the design was influenced by jobsite research and requests to include blade storage for added convenience. The Fastback II has features of the Original Fastback Utility Knife, with the addition of magnetic blade storage that folds into the handle for accessibility.

The artificial turf manufacturer was selected by a playground industry company as its exclusive supplier of artificial grass.

Artificial turf manufacturer EasyTurf says it has been selected by playground industry company Kompan North America to be the exclusive supplier of artificial grass for its nationwide playground construction projects. 

The agreement between the EasyTurf, the landscape arm of Field Turf, and the playground systems and equipment company came after an extensive review process, said Kopman.

These pre-moistened towels are safe on skin and effective at cleaning asphalt or tar-based mastics, adhesives, coatings and sealants, according to the company. They are also effective for cleaning oils and greases.

The voluntary recall affectes about 1,500 units sold at independent window covering installer retailers nationwide from June 2012 through March 2013 for $400 to $700 per window shade.

A potential fire hazard afflicts the Portable Infrared Radiant Quartz Electric Space Heaters.

Optimus Enterprises of Anaheim, Calif., announced a recall Portable Infrared Radiant Quartz Electric Space Heaters due to a fire hazard.

The recall affects some 355,000 units that were sold at Northern Tool, Best Buy Market Place, Family Dollar, Heartland, Rite Aid and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, ebay.com and Walmart.com from October 2011 through December 2012 for between $25 and $30.

Dallas-based building materials manufacturer and distributor Eagle Materials reported big sales and earnings gains for the fiscal year ended March 31.

The maker and distributor of cement, gypsum wallboard and other materials reported full year revenues of $642.6 million, an increase of 30%. Net earnings for the year were $57.7 million, up from $18.7 million a year ago.

Montreal-based Metaltech introduced the 5 FT Jobsite Series mobile scaffolding system, an improved version of its 4-foot model, the company said. 

The new product features security extensions with lateral stabilizers, making it safer to paint, build or renovate. It's equipped with double locking heavy duty 5-inch casters, and can be used as a cart to haul equipment and heavy loads. The scaffold has a load capacity of 900 pounds.

It can also be used as a workbench.

Pittsburgh-based Versatex Trimboard has announced the availability of a 1½-in.-thick, single-extruded, cellular PVC sheet with the launch of Versatex Max.

The product is available in nominal 48-in. widths and four standard lengths; 8 ft., 12 ft., 16 ft. and 18ft. Versatex Max sheets are promoted as offerig the same tight cell structure, density, core consistency and +/- 1/32-in. thickness tolerance found in all other Versatex products, the company said.
