Emtek has answered the call for a luxury Bluetooth-enabled door lock with the introduction of the LISCIO Keypad Leversey with Bluetooth Programming.

The lever features unobtrusive buttons that can be programmed from a free Emtek smart phone app, which can manage up to 20 user codes per lock.

Lowe's has teamed up with State Farm to help give consumers greater access to its proprietary cloud-based platform, Iris, a DIY safety and security home management system.

Specficially, State Farm will be offering its customers special promotions on the Iris Safe and Secure kit and the Iris Smart Home kit. Some qualifying customers will receive discounts on their home insurance as well.

Iris allows users to monitor and control smoke alarms, water sensors and more using a smart phone, PC or tablet. It also notifies users of possible water leaks or fires.

Leviton has announced the purchase of Home Automation Inc. (HAI), a privately held company that provides controls for residential and light commercial applications. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. HAI will enhance Leviton’s current home automation offerings by offering homeowners solutions that combine security, energy management and entertainment controls in user-friendly applications.
